The Transatlantic Voyage of Robert Burns’s Poetry

As part of the Scottish Graduate School For the Arts and Humanties incentive for researchers to ‘showcase’ their work to wider audiences through innovative and accesible means, I produced a short animation depicting some of the procceses by which Burns’s poetry spread to the United States within his own lifetime.  The animation was designed by Andrew Nicholson and authored and narrated by myself. It was showcased at The Lighthouse Gallery Space in Glasgow last month along with two detailed maps of Burns’s publication history in the early United States. Watch this space for more on the transatlantic circulation, pouplarity and influence of Burns in the US. Enjoy.
