Letter To James Hoy Edinburgh 20 October 1787 (Donny O’Rourke)

Burns wrote this letter on the 20th October 1787. Burns illustrates to James Hoy (1747-1828) the plan for James Johnson’s Scots Musical Museum, and writes that the collection is prompted by Johnson’s “honest Scotch enthusiasm”. Also enclosed in this letter was the song, ‘Streams that Glide in Orient Plains’.
